Posted on October 28th, 2008 in Citizenship by Abby

In my previous blog post, Obtaining Birth Certificate via ecensus.gov.ph. I did mentioned about the steps on requesting online one’s Birth Certificate on NSO Paper. And, how one can pay for the request via Unionbank Online Banking’s payment features.

So yesterday, I tried the online request status verifier of ecensus and saw that they already received our payment and that our request has been processed.

Last night, I received an email from ecensus that they have already dispatch our requested documents via Air21. Hmmm, let’s see if the ecensus is really serbilis.

With LCD TV prices going down, fast DSL getting cheaper, bigger hard disk becoming affordable and high-definition movies becoming downloadable via torrents, one would surely need a HDD Player to complete the whole package!

Yesterday, me and hubby went to Consumers Live Electronics 2008 exhibit at SMX, Mall of Asia. Two of the co-owners of Popcornhour Phils are good friends of ours - husband and wife (Alain and Shirley Lo).

At that time I am curious about what popcornhour is all about, so I asked Shirley to explain its features. She just simple explained that normally when you download movies from the internet it’s in a format wherein you can only watch it via a computer or you’ll be needing lots of Blue-ray Disc to burn your High-Definition movies. And, Blue-ray disc is quite expensive costing around P350 depending on brand and quality. So here comes Popcorn hour to solve the problem, with this gadget you can just simple store your downloaded movies into the HDD Player or you can even directly download movies to this gadget.

Wow, isn’t it? Anyway, the gadget cost around Php13,000 that’s for the old model - I’ve been told. I forgot to ask what specific model.

For more information, please do visit their website http://www.popcornhour.com.ph. They accept major credit cards payments.

All the while I thought my employer SSS number, also serves as my SSS Number. It was only after accompanying my Dad to get an SSS id that I learn that I am not yet a SSS Member. My being an Employer with SSS Number is totally different from having a SSS Number individually.

Anyway, I am now processing my husband and my SSS Membership. Before anything else, I need to obtain a Birth Certificate from National Statistics Office (NSO).
