I’m a great fan of G-Cash. My utmost thanks for Globe for this wonderful solution. On my previous blog, G-Cash Works a reader asked me how it works. Hmm, I feel this is going to be a long response.

One needs to be a Globe subscriber. It does not matter whether you’re on a postpaid or prepaid plan. First you have to activate your G-Cash by register your globe number.

To register, subscriber just has to send the following message to 2882:

REG (4-digit M-PIN)/(Mother’s Maiden Name )/(First Name)/(Last Name)/(Address)/(Telephone No.)

After successfully registering with G-Cash, you can now start receiving G-Cash from your buyers! If you’re buyer is already a G-Cash user, you just need to give your 11-digits Globe number and amount to be paid.

To send G-Cash, subscriber just has to send the following message to 2882:

(amount to be sent) (M-PIN) send to 2882 +(10 digit number of recipient)

Or, they can go to any Globe Business Center or accredited G-Cash partner. With this, you have to give you’re other details. Complete Name, Address, 11-Digits Globe Number and Amount to be paid. Take note, the address should match the address given when you registered with Globe.

For every successful transaction, Globe will text you specifying amount received, G-Cash subscriber name/Globe Business Center, date received, reference number and total balance of your G-Cash account.

To inquire about G-Cash balance, subscriber just has to send the following message to 2882:

BAL (M-PIN)

Now, to cash it out. One can go to any Globe Business Center, bring one valid ID. Just ask the Globe Personnel at the entrance for a G-Cash form. Then, fill it up. Amount you want to cash out, your complete name and address. For cashing out below P1,000.00, you will be charged with P10.00. E.g. Cashing out P990.00 - Globe will deduct P10.00 - Thus you will receive P980.00. For more than P1,000.00, Globe will charge 1%. E.g Cashing out P1,100.00 - Globe will deduct P11.00 - Thus you will receive P1,089.00.

It’s up to you, whether you want to pass the charges to your buyers. Some buyers are okay with it some are not.
