Yesterday, me and hubby tried Bellini’s located within the Marikina Shoe Expo, Cubao. Marikina Shoe Expo is at the back of Rustan’s Cubao. I heard so much about Bellini’s through TV and Restaurant Guide book. So, I really want to try the authentic Italian Cuisine.

Since the stores at Marikina Shoe Expo are aligned in a U-shape, it’s quite easy to find Bellini’s. At Bellini’s we were greeted by a cheerful waiter who assisted us in our seats. Since, I’m still on my strict phase - no carbohydrates - I ordered Mixed Grilled Seafood (P190) and Grilled Eggplant with Milky Cheese (P180). Mike ordered Putanesca with Angel Hair Pasta (P225).

The eggplant dish is very tasty and filling. The grilled eggplant was topped with pesto, tomato, mozarella cheese and bacon bits. But, I’m disappointed with my Mixed Seafood - Mussels, Clams, Squid and Shrimp with Lemon to be squeezed. Well, I was expecting big size of Mussels, Clams, Squid and Shrimp. Instead, I got ordinary Mussels, Clams, Squid and Shrimp. I felt the dish was overpriced. On the hand, Mike was very satisfied with his pasta dish. He likes the rich Putanesca Sauce and Angel Hair Pasta which we believe are hand-made by the Bellini’s. Another thing, we were amused by the ‘hot sauce’, when Mike asked for a ‘hot sauce’ we were given a bottle of olive oil with lots of chili. Amazingly, Mike commented taste nice. Hmmm, something to try at home.

Finally, we ordered Panna Cotta as dessert. According the menu, it’s a cream cake. But, it looks like and taste like Leche Flan. But, it is more creamier. This is a must try for everyone who grace Bellini’s.
